Twin Lakes 2010

My husband Mike and I decided we would go camping by ourselves this year. Well, with our dog Bodie of course =) So we headed out to Twin Lakes. It's right outside of the small town Bridgeport, CA. Located in the Eastern Sierra mountains we set up camp at Mono Village. No phone service, no tv's, just good ol nature and each other!

If you remember my post around the same time last year , you will remember we visited some pretty cool historic towns and enjoyed some refreshing scenery. This year we visited even more historic areas including Bodie, the old mining ghost town. We took some back roads and did a little off roading through Masonic and Benton Hot Springs, seeing some of the beautiful landscape California has to offer, but many don't get to see.

Here are some pictures below from our wonderful trip!

old minders lamp oil in the general store in bodie

the old firehouse in bodie

beautiful flowers on our hike to horseshoe falls

The only church left standing in bodie

the beginning of the hiking trail to barney lake (one heck of a hike but so worth it)

i told you it was worth the hike to barney lake! that little brown dot in the water is our 80lb lab bodie

here is our dog bodie (yes he's named after the ghost town )

I learned how to shoot in macro with my camera during our trip (thanks hubby) so here's a couple of pictures of how we like to unwind after our hikes =)

Hope you enjoy the shots and my hubby will have some up on his blog soon with his awesome pictures and I'll post it here =)

I wish we had some more pics to show of our friends Dave , Lizzy and thier too cute for words baby Ashby. They surprised us and stayed one of the nights with us! Hopefully next time we can all camp together longer!
